Haugesund Norway "The Land of the Vikings"

My day started early at 4:30 am, I left my place and took a taxi to the National Express Coach Station for 5am  journey to London Stansted. We arrived in the airport about 9:25am and went straight to the departure area, I got printed boarding pass so it was quick to get in but the queue to the security controll was so long to many travellers jetting off. After the security control I strolled around the duty free while waiting for boarding, we left UK's gloomy weather on time. I was amazed Ryanair service was ridiculously good.

I arrived in Haugesund Airport at 3:40pm. First impression of Norway oh boy this is nature lovers Haven, the aerial view is magnificently beautiful I've only seen a tiny portion but it sure did make me fall in love with it, even before I set my foot to the land of the Vikings. My friend Marie pick me up at the airport and drove straight to her house. And in the evening we went for a short walk along the Haugesund  coast. We started at the Haraldshaugen which is located in the northern suburbs of Haugesund. We found a memorial war monument. The monument consists of a large mound surrounded by a granite memorial stones. At the top of the mound stands a 17m high granite main obelisk, with four bronze panels around the base. Each panel depicts important scenes from the life of King Harald.

The area has a good walking path and cycling trails for locals and visitors to wander along the pristine coastline. Let me take you to the breathaking and inspiring historical landmark view of Haugesund.

On my second day, Me Marie and her family went for a drive in Avaldsnes. A visit in the Viking Village is a must when in Haugesund. Avaldsnes is situated by Nordvegen between the strait of Haugesund and Karmøy.  It has also been said that this historic place, King Harald the Fairfair reunited Norway and established the first throne in the country. Lets go back in time as we visit the reconstructed Viking Village in Avaldsnes Karmøy.
