A day before we head off to Flåm we stopped in Hemsedal from a long drive from Oslo for an overnight to break the journey and stayed in Hemsedal Appartment, a 3 double bedroom that can occupy 6-8 people. The apartment has a good facility with kitchen-dinner, toilet and sauna upstairs, Its very central walking distance to the shops, pharmacy restaurants and etc.
Hemsedal is situated in the heart of Norwegian mountains inbetween Oslo and Bergen. During Summer and autumn it offers a wide range of activities such as cycling, canoeing, riding and visit to the mountain farms. There is also a good walking/ hiking trail just across the road and other nearby trail, hike on the mountain peaks or through the rocks along the river and creeks to see the best landscape within the valley.
The mountain view from the balcony was beautiful and a short walk across the road is another picturesque view of a flowing Hemsila river , walk along the footpath following the river bank or just a walk to the riverbank and sit by the big rocks and just enjoy the view is just pecfect for a lazy day. A good place to relax and unwind away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Good place for summer but saying that at winter time Hemsedal is well known the best place for skiing.
