Revisiting Nailsworth

Revisiting Nailsworth just a short drive from Cheltenham situated on the edge of the River Frome. The Egypt Mill Restsurant has very stylish Art Deco, steel works everywhere and the center of attention it's steel wheel mill just by the entrance. It takes you back from its glory days, this thoughtfully restored corn mill, with its scenic riverside location. I first visited Egypt Mill when we had an early dinner. I went for a safe choice Deep-Fried Haddock in Crispy Beer Batter served with Gastro Chunky Chips,Garden Peas and Tartare Sauce. It was yummy indeed. The food was great and the garden view was spectacular under the parasol enjoying the river sound and a tiny waterfall feature in a sunny afternoon it was lovely indeed.

This time around went there for a proper evening meal. We settle for a cider drink while waiting for our table, we decided to go to the garden terrace. It was drizzling but the terrace was equiped with steel cast iron wooden fireplace. It was nice and cozy, what a way to enjoy a nice and cold pear cider.

After 30 minutes waiting we went inside just in time our table was ready. The menu has a delightful aray of food choices. For starter we ordered Garlic bread and Nachos topped with sourcream, tomato salsa and melted cheese, was abit disappointed there's no jalapeƱo in it but other wise it's ok. Main meal was Dou of pork which is fillet of pork with sage and bacon, slow roasted belly pork, smoke bacon medley in red wine jus served with pea and cheddar mash. The pork fillet was delicious and the roast belly pork was so tender the only thing missing was the crackling, to total it all it was a delectable dinner meal with a nice view and good company. What a lovely evening.
